Hello Kitty Laptop Yayness

June 10, 2007

I was scanning through my news feeds and amidst the usual blah, this pink little thing stood out — a screaming headline that, methinks, undoubtedly deserves a space in this site (Gaah. I’m soo predictable!).

“Dazzling and gorgeous like a jewelry box” as advertised, the Hello Kitty laptop is embedded with 299 Swarovski crystals all over the Hello Kitty brand on its surface.

At first glance I thought it was just a plaything. You know, the kind you’d buy for your kid if you’re earning big megabucks and you don’t know where to stash your cash anymore. But the laptop’s actually made to attract working women, hence, it comes with fairly mature specs. Developed in collaboration with Sanrio, Co, NEC’s Hello Kitty Laptop operates on Windows Vista and comes with 100GB disc drive and 1GB of memory.

Personally, I think this Hello Kitty laptop is too frosted for me, and I would still opt to buy a Pink Sony Vaio or a Pink Macbook in a heartbeat. I think it’s the Swarovski part that’s too much for me to handle.

But what can I say? It’s cute, it’s pink, and it’s Hello Kitty. It’s still a headliner. :)

Pink Macbook, Anyone?

May 30, 2007

Pink MacbookYou saw me gush over the Pink Sony Vaio, how I fell in love with it, and how I’d prefer it over a Macbook anytime.

But when I said that I would most likely have second thoughts if I happened to see a PINK Macbook, I didn’t really know at that time that you can actually have your macbook coated pink, or whatever color you want.

Siigh. I love that there’s so much pinkness in this world. ♥

While Apple does not really release macbooks in pink, a third-party company named Colorware, does it for you. And they have a wide range of eye-candy colors to choose from too. That is, if you’re willing to pay $500 to pimp your mac. Whew. That’s like, a couple of bucks away from getting that Nikon D40 already. Hehe.

But just look at that beauty!! If you dig pink, you can even choose from three shades of this prettyful color: baby pink, metallic pink, and hot pink! Swell. :)

Macbook in Hot Pink and Metallic Pink

Makes me wonder if there’s a Colorware Design Studio counterpart for Nikon and Canon DSLRs. Hehe.

Pink Sony Vaio is Love

May 22, 2007

Don’t get me wrong. I sooo love Ice. But the combination of pink and technology simply makes me.. kilig. (You know, tingling all over, butterflies in the stomach, eyes twinkling with sheer excitement, weak in the knees, you get the drift.) I’m in love. ♥

So here’s another addition to my ever-growing wishlist. :D

A Blush Pink Sony Vaio

Can you read the marketing pitch from the image above? It says:

“Celebrate youth and femininity with Blush Pink. Like a yummy confection, it puts a smile on your face. A bright pink accent line, cool Hexa edges, and a dimpled palm rest enhance the fun. Wear matching pink lipstick and nail polish for the ultimate spirited mobility! Make the passionate choice — Blush Pink VAIO C25G/P.” (Emphases mine.)

I never thought I’d see the word “yummy” and “dimpled” in a marketing collateral of a LAPTOP. Oh, and what about that wearing a matching pink lipstick and nail polish for the ultimate in free-spirited mobility thing they’re talking about? Does the laptop become faster or more high-tech when you’re wearing pink lipstick and nail polish? :) I think they went overboard there but whatdaheck, which girl, in her right mind, wouldn’t want a pink laptop like this?

Fine. I shall not generalize lest some people start raising their eyebrows on me. So I’m only speaking for myself. I think pink is love. And pink laptops is obssession. Haha! I’d love to get one of these. :P

The Blush Pink Sony Vaio comes with an Intel® Centrino® Duo Mobile Technology, Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium, 1 GB DDR2 SDRAM, 80GB HD, DVD±RW/±R DL/RAM Drive, among others. Yeah, I knooow, Vista again. But like I said in one of my posts over there, I don’t mind going through the whole process of degrading the OS to XP again, if it would mean getting the pink laptop to work with Globe Visibility. But that’s another story. Let’s not talk about that right now and try to dwell in the pinkness of things instead. :P

Now for those who cringe at the sight of pink, you might be interested to know that this Sony Vaio also comes in other prettyful eyecandy colors. :)

Pink LA Robe Slip Case for my Acer

May 14, 2007

Who says LA Robe Slip Cases are for MACbooks only? Last Friday, I got one for my Acer Travelmate. :P

I was contemplating on buying a laptop bag for Ice as I’ve been using ordinary bags to carry her around since I got her. Although I love it that way coz I usually just ride a jeep from The Office to The Apartment, and carrying a black standard laptop case is just too attractive to robbers, I cannot avoid naman her getting all these ugly scratches on her surface as the bags I use to carry her don’t have protective paddings inside.

So I went windowshopping for the perfect laptop bag and found this one instead. Made specifically for MAC notebooks, the LA Robe Slip Case comes in different eyecandy colors, and “is made in a soft, shape-memory material, ideal to dress your notebook in an original fashion while protecting it from mobile life worries.”

When I saw the pink one, I immediately knew it was destiny that brought me there. Teehee. :)

And who says you can’t use an LA Robe Slip Case for your Acer laptop? :P

I didn’t bring Ice with me that time, but I’m glad that I followed my gut feel and got a pink one designed for 15″ macbooks even when my Acer Travelmate is only 14″. It fits just right. Now I get to protect Ice from all those ugly scratches, and I can still carry it with style, and with whatever bag I want.

Destiny, definitely. :)

Key Features:

  • Low Resilience Polyurethane (LRPu) Technology
  • Robe protection Thickness 5MM
  • Trendy, Unique Design
  • Inner Lip for maximum protection
  • Stand alone or in your bag
  • No more Scratchs for your Notebooks

Buy LA Robe Slip Cases HERE. Or, if you’re in Manila, Philippines, there’s this lil stall at Megamall’s Cyberzone that sells all sorts of LA Robe goodies. I got mine there for only P1,900.00! But wait! There’s more!

Nah. No more. :P

Globe Visibility Reviews

May 6, 2007

Last month, I subscribed to Globe’s Mobile Broadband service and was kinda impressed with it. Barely a month, however, my Globe Visibility’s been making some shutters here and there already.

At first, I just let them pass. But now, the connection problems are becoming more and more frequent, it’s starting to bother annoy me already. The promised 3G connection is not being met (I usually get GPRS/EDGE connection only), and sometimes I can’t even connect at all. The worst thing is, I’m still paying the same amount (plus VAT pfft) but not getting my money’s worth. Boo.

Just now, after about three hours of trying, and moving around the house to see where I can get a good signal, and a call to Globe’s 24 hour customer support (which didn’t really help at all), I finally got a (lousy) GPRS connection. I tried searching for HELP online and found myself back to Marc’s post about his own Globe Visibility subscription. This time, however, the thread’s grown longer, and I realized that I wasn’t alone after all.

Really now. I can just imagine how many bloggers (and IT professionals) are subscribed to Globe Visibility. Aren’t they aware of what angry bloggers can do?

Angry bloggers -> bad reviews -> bad publicity -> indelible mark (in the form of pages and pages of cached information) to their company brand.

Something has to be done about this. Globe? Help? (Francis? You there?)
