Commenting with just a click

June 13, 2007

Here’s one way of getting feedbacks from your readers anonymously. :)

I can’t even remember what lead me to this site. I’m not really a commentwhore or anything like that. I’d appreciate a comment or two, yes, but I don’t exactly hoard comments so when I saw this comment plugin, it’s not the commenting part that got me interested but the cute buttons that come with it. Harhar. So I tried it, and so far, I’m loving it. Try it, you might like it too. :)

Here are the features of PostReach clickcomments as said on their site.

  • Make your blog more engaging with easier commenting
  • Find out what your readers like about your blog posts
  • Get listed on our showcase and receive traffic
  • Install onto your blog in 3 clicks
  • Free. You don’t even have to register.

Installing the plugin is simple. You just have to upload the postreach file to your wordpress plugins folder, activate the plugin, and viola, it will automatically show up right after each post even without manually editing your wordpress template.

Postreach clickcomments allows your readers to simply click on the icons according to the following criteria: (1) Cool Stuff; (2) Inspired Me; (3) Entertaining; (4) Write More; (5) Creative; (6) Insightful; (7) Touched my Heart; (8) Great Find.

Google, Privacy International, Matt Cutts, Me Coming Out as a Closet MC Fan

June 12, 2007

Let me interrupt the pink streak for a moment and focus on something that’s hot on the web the past week. After all, this site’s about SE Marketing too, in case we all forget.

Let me just say that eversince I became involved with Search Engine Optimization, my interest in the art and science of SEO (and the industry to which I belong) has grown, and is continuously burning flames til now. And I also have to add that none of this would have ignited if I wasn’t fortunate enough to be under the mentorship of The Marc Macalua himself, founder of SEO Philippines and a well respected guru and pioneer of the local SEO industry. Lucky me, I started on the right track albeit not knowing it (since I was merely a web copywriter who was trained to use search engine friendly keywords to begin with).

Fast forward to NOW: I’ve been earnestly covering the web and the blogosphere about technology, the Internet, and new media related news especially since three weeks ago when I started contributing for 901am.com. Admittedly, I have taken particular interest in news related to Google, Yahoo and other web search engines, as a matter of fact, my first ever post at 901am was about the launch of Google’s Street View. Which was later followed by an update on the privacy fears and concerns that came out as a result of the Street View launch. And was later followed by this controversial report made by Privacy International ranking Google at the bottom for its privacy protection practices.

I only blog facts at 901am, and was simply not in the game of speaking out my opinion about the news (yet). And just like my previous thoughts here about my voice being too weak to make noise, I usually just keep my opinions to myself and simply nod in front my laptop (to agree or disagree) as I profusely read what them experts have to say about a particular web news, issue, or controversy.

Anyway, I duno if it’s simply Marc’s great influence on me or Matt Cutts really just has that effect on anyone who reads his blog. As my feed reader alerts me of a new Matt Cutts post, and seeing that he has something to say about the widely debated Privacy International report, I feel as if the world suddenly stopped to make way for a piece of his mind.

Fender’s Hello Kitty Series

June 10, 2007

We all grew up thinking that this kitty cat’s only made for toys and cutesy accessories and stationeries. It turns out, however, that Sanrio, the creator of Hello Kitty, is not stopping this kitty from going wherever the wind blows her.

Posting about the recently launched Hello Kitty laptop reminded me of Fender’s Hello Kitty series that was released about a year ago. Now this one’s more like it. :)

I used to have this on my wish list, next to some Daisy Rock items. This Hello Kitty Stratocaster (above) is based on the classic Stratocaster design, with Hello Kitty’s face forming the pickguard. Plus it comes in prettyful colors of pink and black.

Hello Kitty Laptop Yayness

I was scanning through my news feeds and amidst the usual blah, this pink little thing stood out — a screaming headline that, methinks, undoubtedly deserves a space in this site (Gaah. I’m soo predictable!).

“Dazzling and gorgeous like a jewelry box” as advertised, the Hello Kitty laptop is embedded with 299 Swarovski crystals all over the Hello Kitty brand on its surface.

At first glance I thought it was just a plaything. You know, the kind you’d buy for your kid if you’re earning big megabucks and you don’t know where to stash your cash anymore. But the laptop’s actually made to attract working women, hence, it comes with fairly mature specs. Developed in collaboration with Sanrio, Co, NEC’s Hello Kitty Laptop operates on Windows Vista and comes with 100GB disc drive and 1GB of memory.

Personally, I think this Hello Kitty laptop is too frosted for me, and I would still opt to buy a Pink Sony Vaio or a Pink Macbook in a heartbeat. I think it’s the Swarovski part that’s too much for me to handle.

But what can I say? It’s cute, it’s pink, and it’s Hello Kitty. It’s still a headliner. :)

Little Girl Blogs

June 7, 2007

Okay, she’s not so little anymore. But still. :)

I thought of adding this one to my “is a woman” series of posts but “Junior Problogger is a Woman” just doesn’t sound right. :P Anyway.

13 year old Sarabeth Jasmine of Junior Pro Blogger Dot Com earns from Adsense, offers Ad space, features fellow teen-er’s blogs with her very own “Site of the Month” project, and blogs about stuff that are foreign even to us older bloggers (such as pixeled art and vector graphics). Really now. I remember playing Barbie dolls and rollerblades when I was thirteen. Sarabeth is surely doing something productive out of her time. :)

Take a look at her prettyful site that’s screaming girl power:
