Little Girl Blogs

Okay, she’s not so little anymore. But still. :)

I thought of adding this one to my “is a woman” series of posts but “Junior Problogger is a Woman” just doesn’t sound right. :P Anyway.

13 year old Sarabeth Jasmine of Junior Pro Blogger Dot Com earns from Adsense, offers Ad space, features fellow teen-er’s blogs with her very own “Site of the Month” project, and blogs about stuff that are foreign even to us older bloggers (such as pixeled art and vector graphics). Really now. I remember playing Barbie dolls and rollerblades when I was thirteen. Sarabeth is surely doing something productive out of her time. :)

Take a look at her prettyful site that’s screaming girl power:

Browsing through her site not only amused me, it opened my eyes to the reality that kids these days are more technologically advanced than most of us are. Sarabeth says, in her domain information page:

I start blogging when I was 11. I started my point using Blogger. I blogged there for 2 years. I also blogged in BlogSource that time. After 2 years of bloging in Blogger and BlogSource, I was hosted by TheVanityAffair, one of my sister’s blog partners. I blogged there for less than a year because my sister gave me JuniorProBlogger. It was supposed to be a business blog but she told me just to use ot for my personal use. I opened up a pixel site on 1 April 2007, hosted by Ate Grace. I also opened a PhotoBlog hosted by Blogger on 31 March 2007. Then I closed them eventually.

Pixel site? Photoblog? She’s 11 when she first started?? She’s been blogging for two years? Amazing. :)

I did mention something about being frustrated at having no time to learn and create my own wordpress themes. Sarabeth, a decade younger than I am, makes her own! And it’s nice to find out that she once used the Pink-kupy theme before she created a more personalized theme for her domain. Cute. :)

Look around the web and you’ll find more kids making some noise in their own territories. (You can start from her blogroll.) Sarabeth’s not the only one. There’s also Luke Rivera, 12 years, founder of this start-up for kids, Switcheroony. Both Sarabeth and Luke are Filipino. :) Soon enough, the web will be dominated by more junior probloggers.

Amazing what kids can do these days. Amazing.

Ok, sorry, I just have to say it again: Amazing. :)
