Irate Online Customer

February 20, 2007

I don’t usually make testimonials (positive or negative) for any online stores I’ve made transactions with in the past. But I’m making an exception now.

BUY.COM is killing me. I ordered an Acer Aspire laptop about three weeks ago (22 days to be exact), hoping to have it shipped to a friend who was at California at the time of the purchase. I even applied for a 2-3 business day shipment, which would cost a few dollars more, hoping it would fly its way to my friend’s hands in a breeze.

Theme Switcher Installed

February 16, 2007

I’ve been setting this aside because I got this notion that Wordpress plugins are for experts–that I’ve got to learn complicated PHP language to get it done. I was wrong. I successfully installed a Wordpress Theme Switcher in 5 minutes, tops.

And it took me just 4 easy steps.

Now you can view this site in three different ways. Just click through the themes list up there and take your pick from Pink-kupy, Blue-kupy, and the newest addition to the list, Pinkseo V2.0 (all original by Mr. Kupy, especially made for this Ituloy Angsulong project). c”,)

Oh, I’ve finally installed Akismet too. It’s beautiful!! I luuurve it! Goodbye spammers. Now I can sleep in peace, not worrying about 300+ comments I have to moderate and junkmails I have to delete the next day.

Download Pinkseo WP Theme V2.0

February 14, 2007

Just coz it’s V-day, and some of us are in love (yeboi), here’s a Valentines day gift to the entire wordpress community.

You can download it now.
Or, navigate to the wordpress theme viewer.

Everyone’s on a comeback mode the past three days (linkbuilding, commentspamming haha, word of mouth promotions, etc), and so are we. Gota keep running to finish line. Gaah. Konting tiis nalang. Hay. But today, just for today, I’m taking an early break from all these linkbuilding and seo sh*t (coz you see, I have several dates lined up for tonight and I have to start early if I want to get to work tomorrow morning ha,ha).

Happy Valentines Day, everyone. Keep spreading the looove (and the link love). Ituloy angsulong!

Brandspankingnew Design

February 12, 2007

You like? :)

I’m a sucker for neat layouts and graphics. While search engine bots do not really pay attention to them (aside from their HTML equivalents), I still believe there are site-hoppers (such as myself) who are attracted to sites that have something visual to offer.

Heavy and flashy graphics are not that attractive to search engine bots, however, when optimized for web usability (and SEO) purposes, “it helps in broadening the scope of your web site (which search engines like) as well as keep visitors on your site longer.” IMHO, it also keeps your site visitors coming back for more.

Perhaps that’s why both Pink-kupy and Blue-kupy have been selling like hot pancakes since they were launched. A lot of internet users are women, and are into cutesy stuff, and are not really aware that there’s such a thing as SEM going on. So they go for attractive themes. And flashy graphics. And pink-ish combinations.

Now if one can combine great webdesign and SEO, then you got yourself something that’s both human- and SE-friendly.

As for this site.. Nah, we just wana be cutesy, is all. :P

Random Thoughts

February 8, 2007

I tried to be all casual about it, you know, as if it happens all the time, and as if I expect it to be there. (After all, I thought, it probably won’t even last a day). But. It’s. Still. There. 4th!! (Edit: Three days running.) Blink, blink.

So if I may go on with my nonchalant it-happens-all-the-time stern front, allow me to be all random today.

I’m still getting spams. And I still haven’t activated Akismet, too, haha. Lazy, I know. The weird thing about these spammers is, for all the annoying and out-of-this-world comments they’re doing, do they really believe that someone will fall for them and buy Viagra or Penis Enlarger from them after hassling them with all their spams? (And who’s interested in buying V and P-Enlarger these days anyway?)

My Dad was telling me the other day to find a company that offers car loans to their employees, so that I can invest on one (my Dad believes in me too much haha). Thing is, the only companies I know of that have car loans/benefits are them big ones such as as Johnson and Johnson, and Unilever, and A.C. Nielsen, and P&G, and pharmaceutical companies that give car benefits to their med-reps. I don’t think these companies have openings for SEM-ers, and Internet Geeks, such as myself. So I tell my Dad, give it some time.. one of these days, maybe, when they cross over and realize that the internet is a huge market they want to monopolize for their businesses’ sakes, they’ll be needing in-house Online Marketing too. Right.

Pink-kupy (1775 downloads at the time of this writing) and Blue-kupy (1122 downloads) are doing so well in their own rights. We’re thinking of launching Green-kupy (haha) or Black-kupy (although somebody already did that, I like!), then again, that maybe hoarding a bit too much already.

We’re far out of the running over at Yahoo and MSN, I’m still scratching my head as to how to please them. Grr.

Lastly, meet Lotlot. (She’s a Love-a-lot Care Bear, that’s why).

“Love-a-lot Bear believes in the power of love, but is not afraid to help it along. She’s a pretty and perky bear who loves everything about love and tries to make it grow wherever she goes. Love-a-lot Bear loves her tummy symbol too—two hearts!”

Gaahh. Kid stuff can be really mushy these days. c”,)
