Ituloy Angsulong Nearing End

We’re threading the line towards February, and this Ituloy Angsulong keyword ranking contest is nearing its end. I wonder how Marc (and the organizers of this event)’s going to come up with a cumulative ranking for all three search engines? Will they compute them one by one, or, will they, just like Seobunker, create a web application that will automatically compute the results? It’s going to be a tedious work.

Since I discovered in one of my site studies/assessments at work that there is (sometimes) a significant difference among the SERPs of different google data centers, I make it a point to check rankings this way. Today, I was thrilled to find out that Pinkseo’s ranking has moved up to the first page again (at #10, and at #11 on some data centers) after being stuck somewhere at #17, 18, 19 the past two weeks. On one data center, however, the site was at #17.

I guess that’s how it’s gona be come awardings night, eh? The top three contenders look pretty solid up there already (wala na ba talagang bubuwag? hehe), but the rest of us, lets start praying to our gods that luck (and google, and whatever data center Marc happens to use on Feb24) takes our side when the results come in.

WP Theme Status (as of this writing) : 1078 1084 downloads (since January 24). Yay. *jump, jump* :P

As for this site’s stats, look closely.

10,289 unique visitors today? (Yeah, I know that’s nothing compared to Yugatech’s or Marc’s but whatdaheck, that’s a big jump from the 8 unique visitors we had just Monday last week hehe.) Where did all these wordpress users come from??!

Ayt, that’ll be all for tonight. I can hear my date’s tummy growling from a few chairs away. LOL. Ta-ta.

WP Theme Status, and Then Some

Just a little over two days since the Pinkseo WP Theme was lauched and it’s already been downloaded about 450 456 times (at the time of this writing). Pinkseo’s site traffic went up about 700% (would you believe?), coupled with about a hundred backlinks. All in just over a day.

It’s overwhelming to see more and more people using the theme (girls mostly, but heck, some MALES too!!). I’ve been monitoring technorati and found some interesting modifications in some of the sites. Such as this:

I guess even in ventures such as this, you come to a point where you stop enjoying all the backlinks and traffic and just start loving the fulfillment that comes with providing people something that they can use on their blogs.

Perhaps that’s why girls like her can get away with a PR7 (and gracefully at that) even without having to beg people around to link her. (Maybe she didn’t really care about the backlinks to begin with). And it’s not like she insisted on Matt Cutts to use her theme. Her WP themes are simply.. classic. Which makes girls like moi more… uh, inspired.

Hence, my goals hereforth (not necessarily connected to the WP theme study/discovery):

  • Learn CSS. Oddly, I know the principles (from wayback five years ago when I was making all those crappy layouts for my previous blogs, on personal initiative). Sadly, I’m too stubborn and lethargic to actually sit down and work on a table-less layout. My knowledge of webdesign is too uh, table-ish, if you know what I mean.
  • Be more SEO Philippines active. Er, let see what I can do about this.
  • Work on the domain. Uh, let see what I can do about this TOO.
  • Manage my budget responsibly. With The Laptop coming in next month (yay, I’m excitement!! LOL), hence an additional expense worth several hundred dollars on the credit card bill by March, I’ve gota stop all the unnecessary spending (i.e. shopping) and be more responsible with my resources from here on.

Ok. That’s it. I shall stop my list at that coz the longer a list like this goes, the less feasible (or, using my boss’ term, “scalable”) it becomes.

Spread more pink love. Ituloy Angsulong! :)

Pink SEO WP Theme

We just launched our first ever theme. Hooray! It’s a modification of Tonystreet’s WP theme, but my partner right here, Ronan (there goes his identity), has done wonders to it that it doesn’t look anything like the original design anymore. (Oh, and much thanks to Joni Ang for the 24/7 on-call tech support. =)

Awardings night is exactly a month away. I hope it’s not yet too late to hoard more link love. Yay. Ituloy Angsulong!
